The Junior Internal Auditor is proactive, detail oriented and analytical with a strong foundation in accounting principles, risk assessment, compliance standards and report writing. Skilled in evaluating internal controls, identifying process inefficiencies and ensuring compliance with International Standards and regulatory requirements. Experienced in preparing audit documentation, conducting risk based assessments, and supporting anti-fraud and compliance programs. Known for fostering a culture of risk awareness, delivering clear recommendations to improve efficiency and collaborates with cross functional teams.

Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent;
- Professional Certification; CIA, CPA Track;
- Analytical, experienced in audits/risk management;
- Proven problem solving, advisory and compliance monitoring experience;
- Computer knowledge; Excel, Word, Accounting programs, HIS;
- Good command of the English and Dutch Language, additional languages are a plus;
Tasks:
- Conducting audits, evaluating internal controls and recommending process improvements;
- Identifying, analysing, and monitoring organizational risks, maintaining the risk register and supporting mitigation planning;
- Ensuring adherence to ISO 31000, COSO ERM and relevant healthcare regulations;
- Managing RMIS data integrity, configurations, reporting templates and user training;
- Preparing audit work papers, risk analysis reports, dashboard and executive summaries for management and oversight bodies;
- Delivering risk management training and promoting a culture of proactive risk ownership.

St. Maarten. With more than 425 FTE’s, 28 Specialists and a capacity of 80 beds, we continuously strive to ensure safe, quality health care. Our primary service area of St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba, represents a total population of approximately 60.000 people, constituting a multi-cultural mix with more than 100 different nationalities. In addition, we also offer health care services to the two million visitors annually. SMMC is constructing the new St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH) to expand its services in order to accommodate the increased care demand of the people of St. Maarten, its visitors and neighboring islands.
